Residents of the City of Penticton are being reminded that free metered street parking is coming to an end. The three-month break was introduced in 2021 as a way to provide locals with relief during the quiet winter months and encourage downtown shopping. Bylaw service members will soon be removing hoods from parking meters to do maintenance and install tap-friendly technology, but regular $2 per hour rates will not begin until March 31.
In addition, the Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association is offering a two-hour free lot at 200 Block Backstreet Blvd. until April 30, 2023. For any questions regarding metered parking, contact bylaw at 250-490-2440.
