It is with a heavy heart that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirm that Jo-Anne Donovan, 57, of Westsyde, Kamloops who had been missing since March 13, has passed away.
After her disappearance on March 13, police conducted an exhaustive search for Donovan in order to bring her home safely. Unfortunately, Thursday afternoon the RCMP issued a statement that her body had been recovered and an autopsy will be conducted in order to officially identify her.
Cpl. Dave Marshall said that the investigation is ongoing but there seems to be no risk to the public at large. While he did not provide details on when or where her body was located he expressed his condolences towards those affected by this terrible event saying “This is not the outcome that anyone was hoping for” while also shifting focus onto what may have happened to Jo-Anne.
At this point third party information is thought to be essential in uncovering what exactly happened and Marshall asked any person with relevant knowledge around Donovan’s whereabouts or vehicle usage around March 13th to contact either their local police department at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Our thoughts are with those involved during this difficult time.
