Snowfall Warning Triggers Travel Advisories for Two B.C. Highways

A snowfall warning has been issued for two highways in British Columbia, triggering travel advisories for drivers in the area. The affected highways are Highway 3 and Highway 97C.

The snowfall warning comes as a result of a weather system moving through the region, which is expected to bring heavy snowfall and poor driving conditions to the area. Environment Canada has advised drivers to exercise caution and adjust their driving to the conditions.

The snowfall warning specifically applies to the Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass section of Highway 1, including the city of Revelstoke, and the Pennask Summit to Brenda Mines section of Highway 97C, including the city of Merritt.

Drivers are reminded to make sure they have proper winter tires and an emergency kit in their vehicles, and to check road conditions before heading out on the highways. In addition, drivers should reduce their speed and increase their following distance to allow for more time to react to any unexpected hazards.

The snowfall warning and travel advisories serve as a reminder to residents and visitors in the Okanagan and Similkameen areas to stay informed and take precautions during winter weather conditions. Stay safe on the roads and enjoy the beauty of the snowfall, but remember to prioritize your safety and the safety of others.
