Penticton Vees Dog Race

The Penticton Vees are hosting their annual Pucks N’ Paws night on Saturday, February 17th, and they have something special planned for this year’s event. During the first intermission of the game against the West Kelowna Warriors, the Vees will be holding their first ever dog race!

The race will feature small dogs going from owner to owner between the two blue lines on the ice. To ensure the safety of the dogs, the ice will be covered in snow to prevent slipping. Only 15 spots are available for the race, so make sure to sign up quickly if you want to participate.

There are a few rules and regulations for the dog race. Eligible dogs must weigh 35 lbs. or less and must be on a leash at all times. They also need to be housetrained and should come with pee pads, a dog carrier, or a kennel. Each dog must be accompanied by two handlers, and their owners must purchase a ticket to be eligible to participate.

If your dog becomes uncomfortable or exhibits any issues during the race, they will need to be removed from the arena with no refund or credit.

Pucks N’ Paws is a fundraising event in support of the BC SPCA South Okanagan/Similkameen and Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society. It’s a fun and exciting night for both hockey fans and dog lovers alike. Don’t miss out on this unique event!
