Game Preview: GM #30 Vees at Vipers

The Penticton Vees are gearing up to take on the Vernon Vipers in their 30th game of the season. The game will be held at Kal Tire Place in Vernon, British Columbia. Kick-off time is set for 2:00 pm PST.

The Vees are currently sitting in first place in the Interior standings with a record of 20-5-2-2. However, they are coming off a tough 4-3 loss against Salmon Arm on December 31st. Penticton will be looking to bounce back and end the year on a high note with a win against the Vipers.

In their previous two meetings this season, the Vees and the Vipers have split the series. Penticton emerged victorious with a 5-3 win at home on October 27th, but fell short in a shootout, losing 2-1 in Vernon on November 25th. The Vees will be hoping to maintain their strong record at Kal Tire Place, where they have won seven of their last nine visits.

Andrew Ness, the Vees’ goaltender, will be starting in today’s game. Ness has been in excellent form recently, boasting a 4-0-0-1 record since November 10th. He has an impressive goals-against average of 1.44 and a save percentage of .941. Ness has only allowed eight goals in his last five games, making him one of the top goaltenders in the BCHL.

Meanwhile, the Vernon Vipers have a record of 17-10-1-0 and currently sit in fourth place in the Interior standings. They are coming off a 5-2 win against Salmon Arm on December 29th. The Vipers will be looking to build on this momentum and secure a win against the Vees.

It promises to be an exciting match-up between these two teams. Make sure to tune in to the live radio broadcast on Bounce 800 AM or catch the webcast on Flo Hockey. Don’t miss out on the action as the Vees and the Vipers battle it out on the ice.
