The City of Vernon is seeking a new Deputy Fire Chief to join their team. This senior administrative and supervisory position, effective July 1, is responsible for overseeing the city’s emergency program, including delivery of emergency support services and the department’s auxiliary recruitment, orientation and basic training program. The successful candidate will also oversee the maintenance and function of the Emergency Operations Centre and ESS training centre, as well as assume a leadership role during emergency mitigation, preparation, activation and recovery.
The Deputy Fire Chief will be the first point of contact with the Vernon Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, and may also act as a designated spokesperson for the department on occasion.
