I like the little raised booths with cushions that nod to Japanese design while still suiting a Canadian audience. I was pleasantly surprised by the spicy salmon nigiri. Most places just do basic salmon with some spicy sauce but this place puts its own spin on it with chopped salmon with sauce and green onion on top of the rice. The tonkatsu ramen had a homey feel, a simple delight. Its tough to describe but the broth seemed hearty and healthy, like it steeped various vegetables over a long while. The pork had a beautifully caramelized surface. I can’t say much about the noodles but the whole dish was exactly what i needed to feel at home while away from home. Thank you O-Zeki! I hope I can try more in the future.”
